Michael Sands, Ph.D.

As Environmental Team Leader for Prairie Crossing, Mike Sands oversaw the implementation of its site and landscape plans, including native plans and trees and natural habitat, and developed the organic farm. With over 30 years experience in sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation and community-based economic development, he has worked on a broad range of innovative projects around the world. He was the founding Executive Director of the Liberty Prairie Foundation from 1995 to 2010 and is currently its Senior Associate.
