The largest acreage of the Prairie Crossing Farm is farmed by Sandhill Family Farms. Sandhill Family Farms is a partnership between two families--the Millers and the Sheaffers. Sandhill’s farms are located at the Prairie Crossing Farm in Grayslake, Illinois and Brodhead, Wisconsin.

Sandhill Family Farms is a for-profit independent owner operated business that leases farm land from the Liberty Prairie Foundation. Sandhill serves as an on-site resource for the Farm Business Development Center, and an example of a larger scale farm operation. Fully self-sufficient, Sandhill provides important mentoring to the newer farmers in the community as well as delicious certified organic produce to their many customers.
